Level 2A - Expanding Your Repertoire

This four-week Balboa class is designed for people who have already completed an Introductory class and are looking for more material. We intend to cover Hal's Kicks, Crabwalks, and other moves to be determined. You should already know both basics (uphold and downhold), the come-around, Out & Ins, Toss-outs, Lollies, Side Scoots and Paddles.

We expect to teach the class with people learning one role, but we’re open to teaching it Everyone Leads, Everyone Follows if most people prefer that. And even if we don’t teach it ELEF, a lot of the material we’re looking at is ELEF-friendly, if there are those want to do both roles. Please let us know on the registration form.

When:  Monday evenings, May 6 to June 3, 2024 (there is no class on May 20).  Classes start at 7:30 and end at 8:45 p.m., which includes one hour of class time and a 15 minute practice at the end of the class.

Where:  Classes will take place at the Hintonburg Community Centre, 1064 Wellington Street W (see map below).  There is a parking lot behind the community centre, as well as on street parking, and the community centre is easily accessed by transit.

How much:  $60 per person, payable in cash or cheque at the first class, or by e-transfer in advance.

Your Instructors: Tara Dentry and Chris Evans. Both Tara and Chris have been dancing Balboa for over 15 years and both of them dance both roles interchangeably. Tara regularly teaches at the Ottawa Swing Dance Society's dances and Chris has been teaching Balboa for several years. They look forward to sharing their love of this dance with you.

Note 1: please register as soon as possible as there is a minimum number of students required in order for the class to run.

Note 2: masks will be required during the classes. Masks will be provided if you need one.
